Music Lessons at Katie’s!
Katie’s Dance Studio offers a variety of music lessons designed to help students build confidence, skill, and a lifelong love of music in a supportive and encouraging environment. From beginner-friendly instruction in piano, voice, clarinet, and saxophone, to early childhood music experiences through Kindermusik®, each lesson is thoughtfully structured to meet students where they are and help them grow at their own pace.
Students develop musicality, technique, focus, and self-expression while gaining a strong foundation in music. With caring instructors who emphasize encouragement, consistency, and proper technique, Katie’s music lessons provide children, teens, and adults with a rewarding way to learn, create, and grow—both musically and personally.

Clarinet Lessons
Private clarinet lessons for band students! Clarinet lessons allow students to stay on top of (or ahead!) of material for their Lansing band class and get one-on-one music lessons with difficult note jumps, intonation, and performance/test preparation. Not to mention your lesson time can be logged for any graded practice time requirements! Manipulatives, including flash cards and marker board can be used for any necessary note and rhythm reviewing. Typically, clarinet students work out of their band class book, and instructor will provide supplemental materials as needed.
Lessons meet at your scheduled time, once each week for 30 minutes. Students must provide their own instrument. Reeds are available for purchase. Please call/text/email instructor prior to an absence.
Alto Saxophone Lessons:
Private instructions for band students. Lessons allow students to stay on top of or ahead of material for their band classes and get one on one help with difficult note jumps, intonations, and performance/test preparation. Great class for the beginner or experience saxophone musician!

Piano Lessons
Children, teens, adults! Students of all ages and levels welcome! Individualized piano lessons to accommodate all learning styles, ensuring enjoyment and success! Piano lesson books and supplemental materials from your instructor keep fingers moving during lessons and throughout the week. Flash cards, listening exercises, and marker board reviews mixed in keep minds engaged. All part of a fun and lasting foundation of music theory and technique reinforced along with the sheer enjoyment of playing the piano!
Lessons meet at your scheduled time, once each week for 30 minutes. Access to a practice instrument (keyboard or piano) is necessary. Please call/text/email instructor prior to an absence. Instructor will discuss any necessary books at your first lesson.
Voice Lessons
Children and teens or adults with alto/soprano range! One-on-one voice lessons aid students wanting to improve pitch accuracy, range, breath support, and overall singing technique. Age-appropriate musical selections from a variety of genres are studied. All music lesson materials are provided to vocal students by your music lessons instructor.

Kindermusik®
What is Kindermusik? Kindermusik® music lessons for kids classes combine child development with the fun of music and movement to allow your child the most enriched beginning possible, from their first teacher… you!
Freedom within structure: Programs are divided into developmentally appropriate age-groups, (0 – 18 months, 1½ – 3 years, and 3 – 5 years) crawlers, walkers, and children in laps can freely and safely participate in our activities at their comfort level.
Foundations of Learning: Every silly song and movement has a valuable on-going developmental benefit that your licensed instructor will point out along the way. Motor skills, rhythm, language development, balance, social interaction, movement labeling, or bonding – all disguised as musical fun!
At-Home Kit: Each class has an At-Home Kit purchased with enrollment, specially designed by Kindermusik® to ensure you can continue to incorporate our singing, reading, and movement activities at home throughout the week.
$20 annual Music resource fee also due at registration applies to Kindermusik students.
Classes are offered year-round and include both our 10-week summer session and our school-year session, which usually begins in September.
